Hello, I am Evangeline Bell BA (Hons) MA. I love words. Words are meant to communicate meaning. Well-crafted language is both beautiful and, yet, serves a purpose. Proofreading allows me to help others express their ideas with confidence and clarity.
After many years working as a senior and middle leader in schools, leading whole-school literacy initiatives, and training students and colleagues in precise written communication, I realised that helping people write clearly is the part of my work I have always loved most. Proofreading brings that together with my strengths: analytical reading, accuracy, attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for good writing.
I trained with the Publishing Training Centre (PTC) and with the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP). My previous proofreading experience includes work for reputable publishers, alongside supporting students and adult learners with academic writing.
My approach is calm, methodical and supportive. I believe in preserving the writer’s voice while ensuring that the final text is error-free, consistent and credible. I am skilled in all formats: Word, PDF, BSI symbols, digital media.
